The Closed yet Infinite Universe: where geometry ends and anatomy begins. A watercolor study of an infinite universe trapped within the limits of a radius, and the skin.
A closed disk with center (x₀, y₀) and radius r > 0 is defined as:
K = { (x, y) ∈ ℝ² : (x – x₀)² + (y – y₀)² ≤ r² }
It is a bounded yet infinite set. Infinite, because infinitely many points of the disk lie within a distance no greater than its radius. Bounded, because no point belonging to the disk lies further than the length of the radius.
Such an infinity, bounded from the outside, is likely Mr. Gloom. A universe bounded from the outside by skin.
